Working (and training) from home in the Hong Kong Legal Community

  With the recent challenges in Hong Kong with the novel Coronavirus, many law firms have instituted a work from home policy for lawyers and staff in Hong Kong.  Government and other institutions have also followed suit.  Solicitors and Registered Foreign Lawyers in Hong Kong are either working remotely outside of Hong Kong or are working from their own home on a laptop or PC. Within larger law firms, face to face training has been cancelled until the situation resolves, and many presentations for CPD and RME credit have been cancelled or postponed.  Even the Law Society of Hong Kong announced recently that they will cancel their public CPD and RME courses, and have cancelled all Core Courses for Non Principal Solicitors, Core Course for Principals and Core Course and First Elective Courses for Trainees until such time it can be rescheduled.
